Their farm was located in the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. The reservation was originally established April 29, 1868. The Dawes Act of March 2, 1889 opened up the reservations throughout the United States to settlement by non-Indian entities.

This census shows William and Estelle also had two other daughters, Stella and Mary. No one in our family had ever heard that Marjorie had two other sisters, not even her husband. I have never found the girls in subsequent census records, newspapers, or any other documents for that matter. Marjorie was dead by the time I found this information. Marjorie's brother Bartlett refused to talk to me or my mother (Marjorie's daughter) about their family. Sadly, I'm afraid this will forever remain a mystery.

Stella and Mary were not named in the 1936 divorce notice for William and Estelle. Were they dead? Is it possible they were adopted by another family? No DNA matches have come up so far.
